Before Haiti's earthquake in January 2010 ; the country's conditions were already bad.
Some kids were not able to go to school, because of the lack of transportation, and poverty; forcing children to work at home instead of going to school. When they did attend schools, their schools were usually crowded, rundown, and barely maintained. Only about 55% of primary school-age children go to school , & only about 2% finish it.
In Haiti, there isn't very much food and everything. So most people die from malnutrition. Their water is dirty; so whenever the kids go fetch water, it has to be boiled first and then drank. In some cases, if you give the kids clean water, they can die from it. In Haiti, there is no basic health services.
On January 12th, 2010, an Earthquake attacked Haiti. More than 220,000 people were killed, and more than 300,000 people were injured. People in Haiti were devastated from what happened. Losing their family members and friends from that incident.
6 months later, Haiti still looks the same as it did the day the earthquake happened. If you walk around Port-au-Prince, it'll look as if the Earthquake happened just yesterday. The government has barely begun the clean-up. Some experts even predict that the current removal of the rubble can take up to twenty years. Over 1.5 million people had to be moved into camps because their homes were torn apart and everything. Some Haitians had to build their homes from scraps after the earthquake.
I think the conditions in Haiti are crazy, honestly. I think there should be more people to go and help. Like for instance, we can help send food to them, so they'd have something to eat. We can also try to fix better homes for them. And just do stuff like that for them to make them live better lives, and be healthier.

How does where you live, influence how you live?
There are a couple things to how where you like influences how you live. Things like; the people, climate/landform, jobs, cultures, and all sorts of stuff like that.
For example, most people in Canada live in the Core Region. They mostly live there because of the job opportunities. The more chance of them getting a job, they can like have a better life, kindaa. If they have a job, then they'll have money, and if they have money, they'll probably have a house, and they might have/start a family too. And yeahh. I'm not sure where I'm really going with this, but yeah ! Hopefully you get what I mean:]
Most of the time, the people that live where you live have a big impact on how you live. Because no matter how many years, you've spent with them; they still like changed your life and everything. If that makes sense. Cause when you first move to a different place, you'll have to adapt to the new place, & make new friends that live in the same area as you do. And those new friends of yours are most likely to change your life in some way ! (=
Sometimes, the climate/landform of where you live, influences how you live. Like for instance, the Northern Region has the largest land area; yet the smallest population of people. They don't have alot of people because it has a subartic climate. So it's mainly cold up there. And also because the land is not good enough for farming; because its mainly snowy up there. So yeahh.
:]
If you had to move to Canada, Where would you want to move, & why ?
If I had to move to Canada, I'd probably move to the Pacific Region, somewhere in Vancouver. I'd move over there because it has the warmest climate in Canada; and I really hate the cold ! They also have castle like buildings which I think is really neat and everything ! :] But yeah, the shipping industry is also here, and mining too ! So yeah. I'd also move to the Core Region. Because it has many job opportunities, and like most of the factories are located here. Also because their climate is almost like the Pacific, and so yeahh (:

Account of an American Activity
This event comes once, every year. You don’t particularly have to participate in this activity, but its up to you. It happens in usually in the mid fall. The people who participate in it, are dressed up in their desires. Some of them, have their face painted; either terrifying, or just simply cute. They leave out in the night time, with something to hold their Sweets. Leaving their home, traveling from house to house; simply pleading 3 words, asking for one thing. And of course, they get what they ask for.
When they come back home, at last; they can finally sit down and just adore what they received.
My culture
Dress- In my culture, most of the time we just dress regular; or normal. Like, warm clothes in the winter and everything, & shorts and short-sleeves shirts. But like when the New Year comes, there’s a thing that like all the Hmong people go to, & celebrate. When that time comes, Girls/woman where a skirt over like a shirt that goes with it; including alot of beads & all that stuff. But for guys, they usually wear a pants & A matching shirt, with some beads. But it’s all up to you if you really wanna wear it, or not.
Family- I have a big family. 10 brothers (6 of them are half brothers), and 5 sisters (1 is a half sister). & No, we do not live all together. (: But yeah. The typical role of a woman in my family is like the one who like does all the work & everything. & most of the time, is responsible for like almost everything ish, if that makes sense. They’re usually who the other members depend on. The man/boys on the other hand, usually sometimes do nothing. But, they still have to work & help the woman in the family. But the role for the kids is really nothing, honestly. They just gotta’ be like respectful & everything, & like don’t do anything bad.
Language- In my culture, we speak Hmong. But like most of us speak English, because we live in the US. & thats the typical language here. But sometimes, we do alittle bit of both mixed. (:
Religions- My religion is Shamen. Its when like you believe in spirits & everything. We have these ceremonies for when a new member of the family enters; Marriage’s, & new babies, & alot more other stuff too. Usually when we do those ceremonies, we’d have to like butcher a pig, or a cow. But one thing you have to have, is a Chicken. Honestly, I’m not sure why, but you just have too. I guess. :]
Taboos- Depending on the parents of the family, some parents do not like accept marriage of another race. Which, honestly I think is really crazy. Because that shouldn’t matter, you know? Like for instance, my parents they’re kinda strict on that. But like they know that the daughters will probably not marry the same race. And you know, they’ll just have to accept that.
Yum- The foods that we eat are the typical foods. But in some occasions, we’ll have alot of other asian foods. But the main ones are, Eggrolls, Pho’ (Noodles), & Rice (; In my culture, we typically eat rice with everything. & Pepper too. They’re just like something that we have to have, or else the meal will not taste as good, & it wouldn’t be complete.
